More About the Role
You will provide oversight of engineering practices as applied to hardware and software development, system integration, subassembly and product verification, and test processes, through final delivery report results and advise management of these efforts; As a SME you will respond to customer requests and requirements. You also directly assist the Engineering Manager on all tasks beginning with initial requirements analysis, accomplish bid and proposal tasks with the Project Manager, and play a key role on functional baseline definition. Furthermore you contribute to the refinement and maintenance of the System Engineering processes and organize and maintain R&D efforts.
What You’ll Get to Do:
Organize and Perform requirements management tasks for a large DoD program with a multitude of diverse task orders
Lead engineering team members and test developers through product life cycle management (concept to delivery) of test systems within cost, scope, and schedule by example and by mentoring
Using a Requirements Traceability Matrix as a foundation, assist the test system development teams in: Operational, functional, and physical allocation; software applications at both the system level and the component level; hardware architecture design, development and testing; requirements satisfaction
Coordinate team efforts with management and engineering leaders
Interface with customers regarding developmental efforts
Develop, initiate and maintain an instruction regimen focused on requirements development and management
Formulate, validate and maintain a cost basis for work estimation
You’ll Bring These Qualifications:
US Citizenship to obtain a Secret clearance
Familiarity with US Federal Acquisition Regulations and D-FAR
Bachelor’s Degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or equivalent engineering degree
Five years of experience with Systems Engineering roles as described herein and responsibilities on US Government contracts
Product life cycle management IAW IEEE 15288, or EIA-632, as applied to requirements analysis, review, synthesis, and verification methods
Technical Risk Assessment and Monitoring
Product development experience through initial phase production
Integration and test of hardware and software
Technical development team leadership
Experience with design reviews and justifying designs/development
Technical Performance Measurement
