Job Description

What You’ll Get to Do:

As a member of the Integration and Test (I&T) team, you’ll get to plan and perform independent testing for changes made to software tools primarily; however, the I&T team also tests operating system and network hardware device changes. We support the satellite Mission Director and launch team in support of contracted Vandenberg and Cape Canaveral satellite missions so are looking for individuals excited about space launch operations and the growing web-based and information assurance technologies.

More About this Role:

We are growing the independent testing capability. As such, you will apply testing principles to software tools developed in a variety of languages and for various applications. Additionally, instead of relying on software developers and systems engineers to create automated testing, you will do this and share your experience with the other members of the I&T team.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Attend team meetings as tester to share information and experience, and provide testing status

  • Review approved System Change Requests and software product backlog issues and develop appropriate test plans and procedures

  • Create automated test scripts

  • Train other team members to execute test procedures and scripts

  • Train other team members to write automated test scripts

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Management Systems, or related discipline

Experience: Strong software testing background Proven experience in automated test tools and methods (e.g., Selenium, Atlassian products)

Required Skills: Excellent communication skills in English in written and spoken form Strong collaboration skills and desire to work within a team Highly responsible self-starter Outstanding attention to detail and organization skills

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

Experience with network hardware and operating system testing Experience with off-the-shelf automation tools (Junit, Selenium) Experience in projects using an Agile Scrum approach Prior scripting and/or coding experience (JavaScript, Perl, Python, PhP) Git Source-Control Experience testing web-based applications and using a variety of browsers including Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, and Mozilla Firefox Experience with Atlassian Products (e.g., JIRA, Confluence, Xray, Bamboo)
