CACI is looking for a Server Operations and Maintenance Lead to support our customer, U.S. Transportation Command (USTRANSCOM), at Scott AFB Illinois. This position is contingent upon award of the USTRANSCOM Command, Control, Communication & Cyber Systems Managed Information Technology Services (MITS), Enterprise support Managed services.
What You’ll Get to Do:
CACI has an excellent opportunity for an experienced, self-directed, Server Operations Maintenance Lead . This position is in support of a Department of Defense (DoD) organization, USTRANSCOM Directorate TCJ6 located at Scott AFB IL.
The ideal candidate will be an experienced Server Operations and Maintenance Leader that will provide senior level technical expertise and support the Unified Combatant Command (UCC) Enterprise Network Service Support program and its functions in accordance with current architectures which includes systems administration, operations, maintenance, and support for all USTRANSCOM networks. The Server Operations and Maintenance Lead will provide O&M that will include servers (physical and virtual), firmware, operating systems, software applications, SANs, and computer security compliance. The Server Operations and Maintenance Leader will be responsible to maintain a robust server maintenance capability which ensures that key and supporting services provided to the end user are reliable and available.
Typical duties include:
Provide systems administration, installation, operations and maintenance for data centers servers and operating systems
Provide service for virtual and physical platforms including automated system provisioning, deployment, and servicing of enclaves (including cloud-based: hybrid, on premise, off premise; private, Government or public cloud provider hosted).
Support multiple operating systems including Linux, RedHat, Apache and Microsoft Windows.
Provide enterprise print, scan, and fax services on multiple platforms.
Plan for and respond to service outages and other problems.
Install system upgrades.
Manage system resources and optimize system performance.
Perform system startup, shutdown, diagnostics, file management, user and group setups, and determination of login scripts.
Assist in the coordination of system downtime planned for maintenance, system patches, upgrades, or new releases.
Perform data and file storage administration and related functions including provisioning and monitoring backups and restorations.
Ensure computer operators are properly trained.
Consult on computer problems beyond the knowledge of the customer and technical support staff.
Provide support for Microsoft (MS), Linux, and UNIX-based COTS server environments, and other operating systems on a case-by-case basis.
Participate in 90-day transition activities to ensure seamless transition from incumbent service provider.
Possess and apply a comprehensive knowledge across key tasks and high impact assignments.
Plan and lead major technology assignments.
Evaluate performance results and recommend major changes affecting short-term project growth and success.
Function as a technical expert across multiple project assignments.
Manages a team with a focus on policy, implementation of strategic initiatives and execution of day to day deliverables. Establishes or works to achieve, team objectives, operational plans with measurable contribution towards the achievement of results of the job function or completion of a project.
You’ll Bring These Qualifications:
Currently hold an adjudicated Top-Secret Clearance with SCI eligible and be able to maintain.
Professional certification that meets or exceeds DoD 8570.01. IAM II (CASP + CE or equivalent)
BA/BS and 7+ years recent specialized experience providing overall enterprise-level network system administration, planning, and management or AA/AS + 12 years recent specialized experience providing overall enterprise-level network system administration, planning, and management experience environments.
High degree of technical expertise with systems, servers, protocols, Windows/PC based client/server workstations and Server Administration.
Experience designing, managing, monitoring, and optimizing geographically dispersed networked systems.
Experience performing Operations & Maintenance and installing upgrades.
Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert Sever 2016 (MCSE)
Working knowledge of supporting Operating Systems: Windows Server 2008-2016 and Windows 10, VMWare vSphere.
Experience and/or working knowledge with the following: VMware ESXi and View, MS Windows Server, Active Directory, Outlook, System Center Configuration, Manager (SCCM), and System Center Operations Manager (SCOM)
These Qualifications are Desired:
Current Microsoft server and workstation operating system (OS) security configurations.
Working knowledge of supporting Operating Systems: Solaris 10-11, Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
Current Microsoft server security.
ITIL v3 – Foundation
Automation using Microsoft PowerShell, VBScript, or batch files.
Adaptable to changing circumstances and operational needs.
Understanding of Department of Defense Military standards
Experience working with and supporting Cisco Routers and Switches.
Experience supervising system administrators.
Experience with leading projects and Project management skills.
Minimum of six years supporting a global IT architecture within the DoD.
Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA).
Adaptable to changing circumstances and operational needs.
Understanding of Department of Defense Military standards.
