CACI International Systems Engineer in Shaw Air Force Base, South Carolina
CACI has an exciting and immediate opportunity for a Systems Engineer to support the USAF Network Operations Security Center (NOSC). This opportunity serves as the customer on-site Tier 3 support at Shaw Air Force Base in South Carolina.
- Requires you to have a strong technical background and excellent communication skills to interface with the military client, users, administrators, managers and peer engineers. You will also provide direct supervision and training as required to junior engineers, administrators and technicians. You are responsible for developing, managing and executing large technical projects with limited oversight from senior military and contractor managers.
-Act as Subject Matter Expert by providing technical direction and management oversight for Enterprise Database Systems, Boundary Systems, Enterprise Patch Management Systems, Directory Services Systems, Enterprise Messaging Systems, and Storage and Virtualization Systems.
You will engineer, install, maintain, configure and optimize Microsoft workstation and server operating systems to include Windows Server 2012, Windows Server 2016, Windows Server 2019, Windows 10,Unix-based operating systems (e.g., Linux, Open Berkeley Software Distribution (Open BSD), Oracle Solaris, and Red Hat Enterprise and current/future versions).
Perform analysis for collaboration of network / system needs and participate in planning, designing, upgrading and deployment of enterprise datacenter hardware and software using a project-based timeline.
Apply appropriate security measures to properly safeguard government systems by implementing industry standard best practices and DoD mandated mitigations.
Support the distribution of security patches throughout the enterprise using Microsoft Systems Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) and other enterprise level tools.
Support enterprise messaging infrastructure consisting of multiple on premise Microsoft Exchange 2013 / 2016 / 2019 environments, internal and external mail relays, Skype for Business and Mobile Device Management.
DoD Secret Security Clearance (or the ability to obtain a Secret clearance prior to starting).
5-7 years of relevant experience in the field and/or a Bachelor's Degree
Deployable to the Southwest Asian Theater 25%
Excellent customer service skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work as a team lead and member of small teams functioning as a subject matter expert
Understanding of MS Operating Systems (Windows 10 and Server 2012/2016/2019) and MS Office products
Knowledge of basic networking and extensive understanding of Microsoft Active Directory, Exchange, Skype for Business, SCCM, DNS, DHCP.
Knowledge of VMWare virtualization running on a hyper-converged infrastructure
Knowledge of Mobile Device Management (MDM)
Knowledge of enterprise grade firewalls and forward and reverse proxy servers
Knowledge of Microsoft SQL running as either a an availability group or a failover cluster
Knowledge of DoD, Air Force, and local base instructions governing military networks at an enterprise level
Knowledge of identity management and tools
Knowledge of Active Directory Federation Services (ADFS)
Knowledge of the function of Certificate Authority (CA), Online Certificate Status Protocol (OCSP), and PKI technologies used to support the enterprise.
Familiarity with McAfee enterprise security products
