CACI has an outstanding opportunity for a Production Specialist Senior Toponymist to deliver world-class geospatial intelligence that provides a decisive advantage to warfighters, policymakers, intelligence professionals. This position is in support of NGA organizations and located in Springfield, VA , and St. Louis, MO . The successful candidate must be able to communicate clearly and succinctly both written and verbally, and present products and ideas in a business manner. The candidate will analyze and provide conflated information associated with Foundation feature data listed within the Geographic Names Database (GNDB) and other data repositories, while working closely with NGA geographic names experts.

What You’ll Get to Do:

The Production Specialist Senior Toponymist must accurately enter and maintain data to update the GNDB. Geographic names are provided by NGA Toponymist for use by the federal government and other U.S. and foreign users. Senior Toponymist will provide foreign translation as necessary to support the Office of Geography and the NGA Mission. Candidates will conduct research using ArcGIS Pro and QGIS software as well as common office business software (e.g., word processing, spreadsheets, e-mail, and internet browsers) and utilize internet and other general research tools. Sources regularly used include: native maps, secondary source maps, historic maps used for extraction and comparison, textual documents, Internet sources and imagery at various resolutions. Services will result in the creation of shapefiles, geo-databases, and data retrieval/storage.

More About the Role:

The candidate must have DLPT equivalent of 2/2. Languages (Farsi, or Chinese, or Russian) They will advise the U.S. Board on Geographic Names (BGN) and serve as staff members of the Secretariat for the BGN Foreign Names Committee (FNC). The candidate will participate in technical exchanges with NGA, mission partners located at their site and virtually around the globe. The candidate will participate in technical exchanges that focus on Human Geography production to NGA standards and feature extraction/attribution issues related to Human Geography production.

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

  • BA/BS and minimum 7 years of related work experience; or equivalent relevant experience in lieu of degree

  • Active TS/SCI with the ability to obtain a Polygraph

  • Demonstrated advanced experience with GIS software to include ArcGIS Pro and QGIS

  • Demonstrated experience operating successfully in a fast-paced and dynamic environment as a team-member and as an independent analyst

  • Advanced understanding of and application of Geographic Names collection methodologies

  • Expertise in research and information gathering

  • Knowledge of regularly used GEOINT Sources

  • Demonstrated experience with native maps, secondary source maps, historic maps used for extraction and comparison, mapping imagery for stereo and mono extraction at various resolutions

  • Demonstrated experience creating shapefiles, geo-databases, and features including data retrieval/storage

  • Demonstrated experience at communicating with clarity and accuracy both verbally and written

  • For all languages, a minimum proficiency skill level 2 for Reading is required as defined by the Interagency Language Roundtable (ILR) Proficiency Levels or the equivalent that meets or exceeds the ILR skill level 2. Language (Farsi, or Chinese, or Russian). For award qualification, testing must have taken place within two years prior to the date of this Task Order. After award, and, at vendor expense, linguists must maintain a two-year currency at level 2 or higher verified by test results submitted to the Government.

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

  • Proficiency in advanced Python Scripting

  • Regional Geographic proficiency in the geographies of the analyst’s AOR at the SME level

The proposed salary range for this position is:

$74,600-$156,700
