Opportunity to work on a 40 person program that executes as collaborative teams. This integrated approach provides opportunities to all team members to contribute their experience and expertise across the program. The program collaboratively creates mission critical software applications for its users, whom we coordinate with heavily for design and development to ensure efficient and effective execution of their mission. You will support software design and provide iterative testing of application development. YOUR contribution will be critical to help us maintain our team's record of on time and on schedule deliveries.

What You’ll Get to Do

You will be responsible for working with the team to maintain system documentation including software ICDs, requirements decomposition, flow diagrams, and requirement sell-offs. Additionally, as you become the expert on program requirements and goals, you will be able to present this information both internally and externally to various stakeholders. Expect to be a part of fast paced mission that makes a difference to the warfighter on a daily basis. YOU will be focused on overseeing software tasks, CDRL delivery, and process improvement. Push the software baseline forward by continuing process improvement and using agile software development processes. Responsible for the technical accuracy and deliveries for specific customer programs.

On Team Makalu, additional responsibilities include playing an integral role in defining the architecture for two highly visible, mission critical cloud-native microservice-based systems (Bodhi and ChatSurfer), while also suggesting ways to improve the overall performance of the applications. YOU will accomplish this by navigating cloud environments via Linux commands, performing database queries to gather metrics, and learning the network architectures that allow our external data sources to reach our applications. As part of an integrated team, you will provide user support and system design testing for two critical mission applications.

You’ll Bring These Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in systems engineering, electrical engineering, information technology, or related field.

Experience:

  • 7+ years of relevant experience

Clearance:

  • A TS/SCI clearance with CI Poly is required for this position.

Required Skills:

  • Solid understanding of system engineering in both development and an operational environment

  • Must exhibit good time management skills, independent decision making capability; focus on customer service.

  • Possess excellent oral and written communication skills and sound problem solving skills.

  • Ability to work with the other technical members of the team to administer and support the overall program.

  • Ability to facilitate a mutual understanding of requirements between users and software developers.

  • Familiarity with developing requirements, and documentation

  • Familiarity with the software development life cycle on government programs

  • Enthusiastic & energetic performer able to work in a dynamic, fast-paced, & high visibility environment

  • Self-motivated and capable of performing tasks with minimal oversight

  • Team player incorporating a team based success philosophy

  • Participate in the completion of program & project milestones

  • Understanding of end-to-end test procedure development and software testing

  • Knowledge of Intelligence Community (IC) processes, policies and guidance

  • Experience working with Linux or similar Operating Systems

  • Experience working as a member of an agile team participating in the complete product development lifecycle

  • Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS)

  • Demonstrated experience leveraging the Atlassian Suite of tools for ticketing, documentation, and version control

These Qualifications Would Be Nice to Have

  • Familiarity with configuration management processes and tools

  • Demonstrated expertise in designing, prototyping, and deploying solutions across a worldwide enterprise

  • Familiar with container technologies (e.g. Docker) in enterprise environment

  • Expertise in automating manual processes

  • Understanding of system design and network architecture

Pay Range: The proposed salary range for this position is $86,200-$176,600. There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, geographic location, education, and certifications.
