We are looking for a highly motivated Linux Systems Administrator to travels to agencies in the continental United States (CONUS) and Outside the Continental United States (OCONUS) to deploy the Global Command and Control System – Integrated, Intelligence, and Imagery (GCCS-I3) system. In addition, they will provide technical support to customers and manage and maintain a GCCS suite onsite in Suitland Maryland. This will include, but it not limited to OS and application installation (on premises and cloud environment), security hardening, patch maintenance, backup and restoration and assistance with system accreditation. As a member of the team, the systems engineer is expected to learn each JDISS product they will deploy and use their engineering skills to determine alternate methods for more efficient deployment.
Knowledge of GCCS-I3 or have adequate Linux administration knowledge to navigate through the command line interface to install applications.
The position travels to agencies CONUS and OCONUS. Travel is up to 20% within one year to install JDISS applications on Linux platforms.
Conduct operational test evaluations of all JDISS applications to include Global Command and Control Systems (GCCS).
Provide technical support for associated JDISS applications, on-site, off-site and in the Amazon Web Services (AWS) Cloud environment, by electronic means or through direct on-site support.
Install JDISS applications on Windows 10 platform with understanding of AD architecture
Provide application technical support to JDISS customers.
Recommend and implement system enhancements to improve installation, upgrading/patching, monitoring, and problem resolution.
Provide backup and recovery services; manage file systems and disk space; manage virus protection on a routine basis.
Provide guidance and direction in resolution of escalated issues and/or complex production, application, or system problems.
You Will Bring These Qualifications:
BS in IT or IT management and 4 years direct experience or 7 years same experience.
Experience supporting Linux/Solaris OS server environments
Experience with installing, building, and problem resolution for Linux/Solaris based servers.
Experience managing and maintaining Linux/Solaris in a VMware environment.
CompTIA Security+ or higher.
These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
Experience with the Global Command and Control (GCCS-I3) application
Ability to understand track database capabilities, including CST, NETWORK, MTC, Link 11, Beacon Track, IBS-S and IBS-I Full Imagery, Intelligence capability.
Knowledge of VMWare environment
Knowledge of Amazon Web Services (AWS)
