What You’ll Get to Do:
CACI has an immediate need for a National Personnel Records Center (NPRC) Researcher to work for our client in St. Louis, MO. The NPRC Researcher will be assisting the Nuclear Test Personnel Review (NTPR) Program to complete military and DOD personnel and unit records research requests at the NPRC. They will work under the guidance of the current NTPR lead NPRC Researcher and NTPR Research Manager to learn the NPRC eMilRecs records ordering system, order, process, review, research, and upload Official Military Personnel Files (OMPFs) to the NTPR network for use in NTPR claims case completion. Additionally, they will learn the process and research procedures for ordering, reviewing, copying, and uploading military unit records from the NPRC collection. This position will require at a minimum Secret security clearance or the ability to obtain one, a full time in-office presence at the NTPR office facility in St. Louis, and on-site work at the NPRC in St. Louis.
More About the Role:
Review and research OMPFs and military unit records to retrieve documentation required to confirm participation status for NTPR claims received from Department of Veterans Affairs, Department of Justice, and personal or other requests as assigned.
Conduct primary source and archival records research using a variety of tools to determine veteran locations and activity history.
Upload digital records of NPRC research to NTPR data network for transfer to NTPR Research Team.
You’ll Bring These Qualifications:
B.A. degree in History or related Social Sciences field.
Active Secret clearance and/or ability to acquire and maintain one
Ability to effectively communicate in writing
Knowledge of military organization and terminology
Data abstraction and analytical skills
Attentiveness to detail and accuracy
Ability to work independently and in small team settings
Ability to work on-site full time (telework not possible in this position)
These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
Experience with digital libraries/archives.
Degree in library sciences.
