CACI International Technical Writer APY - Amphibious Planning Yard in Virginia Beach, Virginia

Job Description

What You’ll Get to Do:CACI is seeking a Technical Writer to support a large US Navy program – APY (Amphibious Planning Yard, in Virginia Beach, VA. More About the Role:

  • Writes, rewrites and/or edits technical documents such as technical procedure manuals, user manuals, programming manuals, service manuals

  • Produces operational specifications, and related technical publications to communicate clearly and effectively technical specifications and instructions to a wide range of audiences

  • Acquires subject knowledge by interviewing product developers, observing performance of production methods, referring to technical specifications, blueprints, engineering illustrations, and trade journals

  • Oversees preparation of illustrative materials, selecting drawings, sketches, diagrams and charts. Conducts quality review of materials

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in any field.

  • A minimum of 5-years of experience in the development of technical documents, including technical manuals, technical specifications, purchase specifications, and engineering reports,

  • Experience must include writing, editing and/or reviewing technical procedure manuals, user manuals, programming manuals, service manuals, operational specifications and related technical publications.

  • Experience must also include the selection and integration of illustrative materials, engineering drawings, sketches, diagrams, and charts.

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

  • Experience with Amphibious Planning Yard (APY) and other Naval platforms a plus.

  • Experience with SGML/XML.

  • Experience with S1000D specifications
