CACI International AIX Administrator Team Lead in Washington, District Of Columbia

Job Description

Functional responsibility:

  • Lead team of AIX administrators responsible for building, configuring and securing AIX platforms.

  • Establish LPAR cloning standard operating procedures and create LPAR profiles

  • Install, configure and establish the plan to maintain software on the LPARs that is required by the data center

  • Develop and present mitigation strategy recommendations to the client to address security findings

  • Analyze issues related to AIX and supporting software,

  • identify problem resolution and coordinate implementation of solution with client management and other impacted technical support teams.

  • Coordinate and support deployment of AIX supporting software, and application related software upgrades/patches

  • Design, configure, and maintain LPARs required to support various non- production and production components

  • Maintain infrastructure software (GPFS, PowerHA, AIX 6.1, 7.1, and later, VIOS, PowerVM)

  • Establish and maintain user access accounts

  • Create file systems and designate CPUs and RAMs

  • Create and maintain a base AIX Operating System image that meets the following client security audit requirements:

  • Establish a secure and hardened AIX Operating System platform that includes software such as SSH, Tivoli Storage Manager (TSM) Client, IBM PowerHA

  • Conduct AIX Operating System security scans to meet client security guidelines

  • Implement a checklist of DISA STIG compliance measures for AIX 7.1, and later

  • Deploy security patches/updates on an ongoing basis

  • Monitor and tune AIX Operating System and supporting software, as needed, to optimize application performance

  • Maintain AIX and supporting software inventory

  • Perform LPAR back-up and test restore in concert with established client guidelines

  • Tivoli Identity Manager (TIM) Expertise

  • TIM installation and configuration on AIX 6.1, 7.1, and later

  • Integration of TIM with Tivoli Workload Scheduler (TWS) and TSM

  • Provision of skills and technical documentation to promote knowledge transfer

Required Skills

  • Good Oral and written communication skills

  • AIX experience; UNIX–AIX (7.1,6.1, 5.3, 4.3) , Linux (Redhat,CentOS), Solaris (9,10), VAX/VMS, , AIX LPAR and VIO, VMWare ESXi. Tivoli Identity Manager, Tivoli Workload Scheduler, Tivoli Netcool monitoring probes.

  • Momentum 7.X

  • Java 7 or Newer

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information technology or related field

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in supporting AIX environment
