What You’ll Get to Do:

The Business Systems Analyst will serve as an analyst supporting business functions and the IE&WR line leader team to assist with alignment and implementation of systems enhancements with stated and understood business needs. In this role, you will identify, define, and document business processes and software/integration requirements. Candidate must have an inquisitive nature and a strong desire to learn real world applications that compliment academic experience.

The position will report to the Director of IE&WR Financial Management and rotate through the IE&WR teams that provide functional and customer support for the functional areas of Finance, Procurement, Talent Acquisition, HR, and Operational Excellence.

More About the Role:

  • Apply understanding of relevant business applications across areas to build high-quality requirements and recommend solutions.

  • Use a variety of techniques to understand and gather business requirements, such as interviews, workshops, surveys, site visits, and storyboards.

  • Shape business requirements by making recommendations and suggesting proposed solutions.

  • Understand technical options, limitations, costs, and risks. Communicate tradeoffs to line leaders and work with them to shape requirements accordingly.

  • Translate conceptual user requirements into clear, detailed functional requirements.

  • Create artifacts as appropriate, including business case documentation, scope documentation, functional specifications, technical specifications, integration diagrams and process flows.

  • Support implementation team as they develop/implement, test, and deploy solutions.

  • Provide functional support for testing. Develop test scenarios and documentation and perform validation testing for interfaces and/or conversion requirements. Monitor, track, and troubleshoot application operation and data, analyzing incidents and working with the technical team to resolve issues.

  • Review delivery team output to ensure requirements are correctly interpreted; define and execute test cases.

  • Document current processes and models to understand inefficiencies or gaps.

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

  • Pursuing or completed bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Business, or applicable field.

  • Ability to learn new applications, IT service delivery development methodologies, procedures, principles, and practices.

  • Demonstrate the ability to think innovatively in work products and solutions.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent communicator, verbal and written.

  • Productive individual contributor.

  • Works independently with general supervision.

Must currently be enrolled in High School OR a full-time Undergraduate, Graduate, or Doctorate Student

Must be able to obtain and maintain applicable security clearance

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.

  • Experience with applications.

  • Experience with programming.

  • Experience with Agile delivery.

  • Experience with PowerBI and SQL.

  • Experience with IT service delivery development methodologies.
