What You’ll Get to Do:

  • Works directly with the trial team and case manager to conceptualize and develop strategies, graphics and other media for presenting evidence at trial or at hearings, including exhibits, oversize charts for display in the courtroom, computer-generated graphics for projection or display on computer monitors, animations, simulations, multi-media slide shows, audio and video clips, etc.

  • Recommends effective presentation formats, color schemes, scripting, and sequencing.Oversees and coordinates production of highly technical and complex items such as computer simulations and animations which may require a production studio.

  • Works with the trial team, including expert witnesses, to develop plans for trial or hearings using a courtroom presentation system, including verifying courtroom specs and capabilities.

  • Prepares exhibit images for particular uses. Digitizes audio and video clips.Synchronizes clips with written transcripts. Advises attorneys on the effectiveness of certain exhibits or sequences of exhibits.

  • Is responsible for the smooth operation of the presentation system in the courtroom.Note that for most trials, the Courtroom Presentation Specialist may be the only contractor staff member working with the attorneys in preparing for trial and in presenting materials in the courtroom.The successful candidate will be a "jack-of-all-trades" capable of performing all trial and courtroom support functions, including equipment set up and troubleshooting, scripting, advising on graphics presentations, and courtroom operation of equipment.

  • When schedules do not require courtroom support, other available time will be spent supporting the Environment and Natural Resources Division (ENRD) processing lab, supporting the eDiscovery needs of the department.Provides hands-on file manipulation, loading, and conversion services.Creates and modifies files for upload, typically into commercial - off - the - shelf (COTS) products, and performs individual file conversion in support of electronic file processing as well as prepares outgoing productions.Develops, evaluates and modifies methodologies and procedures for manipulating files for use with COTS products and litigation support applications.Performs quality control checks of all services.Responsible for ensuring that productions are made pursuant to the applicable Electronically Stored Information (ESI) specifications and when deficiencies are found, provides Manager with detailed notice of deficiencies.

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

  • Must have outstanding communications skills for discussing case and exhibits with the trial team, including expert witnesses, and ensuring that priorities are understood and deadlines are met.

  • Must be familiar with standard courtroom presentation packages such as Trial Director and Sanction.

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a trial team through the entire pretrial and trial cycle, identifying and scanning exhibits, scripting with the attorneys, setting up the courtroom, operating and troubleshooting the system in the courtroom.

  • Working knowledge of personal computers, including Windows 7, document review software, and encryption methods.

  • Must be able to travel for long periods of time.

  • Must be able to work long hours for an extended period of time.

  • Trial experience required, including ‘hot seat’ role, operating trial presentation system to present evidence.

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

  • JD preferred.

  • Demonstrated ability to recommend and produce high-quality graphics and other presentation media, using computer tools and other professional graphics and multi-media development tools.

  • Ability to understand the attorneys’ needs and arguments to be supported by the graphic materials, and be able to translate that understanding into effective media presentations.

  • Experience with LAW, IPRO, Concordance, Summation, ICONECT, Relativity, MS Office Suite, and West LiveNote valued.

  • Relativity certification(s) valued.

  • Experience performing ediscovery roles including but not limited to electronic files processing (EFP), image and data file conversion, data culling using review tools, quality assurance, database loads and retrieval, and forensic analysis.
