What You’ll Get to Do:

CACI has an excellent opportunity for an experienced Microsoft SQL DBA to join our team to provide database administration supporting Federal Protective Service (FPS) and provide support for multiple applications and systems. We are interested in hiring an experienced DBA to work closely with our software and application development and operations teams in managing multiple development and production databases.

The DBA will maintain the configuration and operation of Microsoft SQL Server solutions. Optimizes system operation and resource utilization and performs system capacity analysis and planning. Provides guidance to operations personnel for operation and troubleshooting of these systems.

The successful candidate must be able to communicate clearly and succinctly both written and orally, and present products and ideas in a business-like manner. The candidate will be required to work in dynamic fast paced environments that require team interaction and coordination of efforts. The candidate must be experienced in interfacing with both client managers and system users. The DBA will be competent in all areas of Microsoft SQL Server including database, integration services, and reporting services. The candidate should speak well in front of an audience and be able to present briefs to high ranking government personnel and be able to provide whiteboard sessions and presentations to personnel in a clear, concise but comprehensive manner.

More About the Role:

  • Build, support, and maintain Microsoft SQL database systems of high availability including backup and recovery.

  • Minimize database downtime and manage parameters to provide fast query responses.

  • Determine, enforce and document database environment, policies, procedures and standards.

  • Perform tests and evaluations regularly to ensure data security, privacy, and integrity.

  • Monitor database performance, implement changes and apply new patches and versions when required.

  • Develop presentations and reports.

  • Prepare and present plans and changes to Technical Review Board.

  • Utilize monitoring and performance analysis to troubleshoot and isolate problems/issues/incidents.

  • Track all work activities in Service Now, JIRA, and Confluence.

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

  • Ability to obtain DoD Security Clearance.

  • Ability to obtain Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Entry On Duty (EOD) - Active EOD preferred.

  • BS degree or equivalent + 5 years of Microsoft SQL DBA experience.

  • Proficient in database technologies, securing databases, and applying best practices.

  • Strong understanding of server-client computing and relational databases.

  • Experience with supporting SQL Server for applications.

  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Exceptional planning skills and ability to work within change management parameters.

  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.

  • Ability to complete tasks with minimal supervision.

  • Exceptional verbal and written communications skills.

  • Able to communicate clearly and professionally with senior customers to field and troubleshooting questions and issue.

  • Work well inside team environment, positive can-do attitude.

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

  • Relevant Microsoft or Azure certification.

  • Experience with non-Microsoft SQL data platforms.

  • ITIL v4 - Foundation.

  • Adaptable to changing circumstances and operational needs.

  • Previous DHS or DoD experience.
