CACI’s accredited Digital Forensics Laboratory (CDFL) is seeking a Forensic Analyst Team Lead to operate in a dual-capacity providing both senior-level digital forensics examination support and management of a team of digital forensic examiners at a client site laboratory in Washington DC. Digital forensic casework entails supporting the federal agency with its law enforcement responsibilities for administering and enforcing federal Securities laws.

Candidate will provide direct technical support to investigative and cyber unit staff, to analyze and interpret suspicious activity involving the compromise of online securities trading accounts, unauthorized system access and dissemination of non-public information.

Ideal candidate is an experienced senior-level digital forensic analyst, cybercrime investigator, or law enforcement digital forensic analyst or agent, who possesses a mastery of digital forensics principles and techniques in acquiring, collecting, preserving, processing, and analyzing electronically stored information. Candidate uses their knowledge and experience of a wide variety of advanced computer technologies and forensic theories to conduct forensic examinations and analysis with the goal of developing forensically sound evidence. Candidate may assign forensic work to a team of digital forensic analysts as well as to monitor the status of assigned tasks and provide technical guidance and assistance to team members as needed. Responsibilities include: managing digital forensics examinations through the entire lifecycle (case planning, intake, acquisition, examination, presentation and disposition); preparing clear and comprehensive notes and reports of findings; and providing oral and written communications to legal staff concerning results of examinations to include legal declarations as well as testimony at trial.

Required Qualifications:

  • Strong proficiency in digital computer forensics to include the preservation, identification, collection, analysis, and presentation of electronically stored information.

  • BS degree in Information Technology or Information Security, Computer Science, Cyber Security or another related field of study or equivalent.

  • Digital forensic certifications (one or more): EnCE, CFCE, GFCA, GCFE, or equivalent

  • Mobile Device related certifications (one or more): Cellebrite, XRY, Oxygen, or other software used to forensically analyze mobile devices

  • Strong technical skills proficiency in the following areas: network communication using TCP/IP protocols, system administration, knowledge of computer network architectures and related systems (router/switch, server proxy, firewall, IDS/IPS) and system generated logs. Candidate must have a thorough understanding of Domain Name Service records.

  • Strong Report writing proficiency.

  • Intermediate ability to educate and present technical information and summary of analysis to various groups including investigative and legal staff.

  • Self-starter with interpersonal management skills and the ability to proactively engage and develop relationships with subject matter experts and analyst counterparts across the US Intelligence and Law Enforcement communities and other related entities in diverse investigative settings.

Desired Qualifications:

    • Cyber related certifications (one or more): CISSP, CEH, Security+, Network+, CCNA, CCNP
    • Technical Skills proficiency: Python language, encryption technologies/standards
    • Basic understanding of Malware (communication, installation, ad types)
    • Intermediate knowledge of computer network defense
