CACI International HM&E Support – Engineering Technician (Mid-Level) in Washington, District Of Columbia

Job Description

PMS 317, the Landing Platform Docking (LPD) amphibious ships program office is responsible for the design, build, outfit, and test (to include Flight I and Flight II ships), and to provide for life-cycle maintenance support. With 11 LPD 17 Flight I ships delivered, two in construction and planned future procurement of 13 LPD 17 Flight II ships, the main focus of PMS 317 activities includes ship acquisition, technical/system integration, ship production, test, outfitting, GFE/GFI management, and post-delivery. CACI seeks a Mid-Level Engineering Technician for HM&E Support to assist PMS 317 in accomplishing its mission and objectives. This task will be executed in Washington, DC.

What You’ll Get to Do:

This position will support the PMS 317 client in Washington, DC to include:

  • Interface with the System Engineering Manager to develop and review designs for electrical power generation and distribution in sufficient detail to provide project scope, design evaluation factors, mission impacts, and risk evaluation. Develop/define systems requirements in the context of missions, taking into consideration of available design white space to allow for more effective design tradeoffs, and work with a mix of systems including existing, partially developed, and yet-to-be-designed independent systems. Provide reviews, analysis, studies, documentation, and recommendations for system engineering design for hull, mechanical and electronics (HM&E) and combat systems.

More About the Role:

  • Perform detailed information searches, correlate and interpret technical data and prepare technical documents.

  • Solve complex problems using knowledge of applicable engineering technology

  • Support field engineering, troubleshooting, repair and testing of equipment and systems onboard ships.

  • DoD/Navy ACAT I Program experience.

  • Demonstrated experience in shipboard electrical power generation and distribution (Preferred)

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma

  • 7+ years of relevant experience naval systems integration, testing, and shipboard systems operations (Preferred)

  • Ability to write clear reports

  • Ability to interface with team members, technical leads and Project Managers

  • Ability to work alone on individual projects and collaborate with multidisciplinary team members

  • Proficient with MS Outlook, Excel, Word, and Powerpoint

  • Good verbal (English) communication skills

  • Must be a US Citizen and have an Active DoD Secret clearance

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

  • Amphibious Assault Ship Class Platform experience

  • Ship check experience
