CACI International Littoral Combat Ship (LCS) Production Junior Engineer in Washington, District Of Columbia
CACI is seeking a Littoral Combat Ship (LCS) Production Junior Engineer supporting the Program Office Production Department for the planning and execution of events from Start of Construction to Sailaway. This is a fast-paced acquisition program and four ships are delivered every year. 12 ships are in various stages of construction at two shipyards. This position will focus on support of Independence Variant built in Mobile, AL.
What You’ll Get to Do:
Responsibilities are principally to support the Government Leads organize, coordinate, and execute the Start of Construction to Sailaway activities
Production Readiness Reviews (PRR), Launch Readiness Reviews (LRR), Builder’s Trials (BT), Acceptance Trials (AT), Industrial Post Delivery Availability (IPDA), Crew Move Aboard (CMA), Light-Off Assessments (LOA), and Crew Familiarization (CREW FAM) which includes a brief underway period
There will be a significant focus on support for the IPDA which is a two to three month availability performed after delivery at the construction shipyard which may be expanded to include drydocking work elements of the Post Shakedown Availability work package
Communicating effectively to assist Program Office coordination between with the Shipyard, LCSRON, and Crew to facilitate the industrial support and scope issue resolution to enable these transition events for the embarked Navy crew as they take ownership of the ship prior to Sailaway from the shipbuilder
The primary place of performance is at the shipyard in Washington, DC with up to 25% travel to the shipyard
You’ll Bring These Qualifications:
Ability to obtain a Secret Security Clearance
A Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline is required, preferably in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, Mechanical Engineering, or Shipyard Management
1-3 years Waterfront experience in ship construction, repair, and maintenance desired
Superior organizational, communications, and writing skills required
Open to recent graduates with a degree(s) and internships related to Engineering and Technical fields in the marine industry
