CACI International Littoral Combat Ship (LCS) Public Affairs Officer in Washington, District Of Columbia
CACI is seeking a Public Affairs Officer in support of the LCS Program. This role supports the LCS Shipbuilding and LCS Fleet Introduction and Sustainment program offices in developing public affairs products and coordinating with external stakeholders for media engagements. Preferred experience would include managing public affairs for Navy or other Department of Defense programs or commands. Demonstrated examples of a candidate’s proactive mindset to identify and engage on PAO opportunities on behalf of the LCS Program is a discriminator.
What You’ll Get to Do:
Developing talking points and speeches for senior Navy leadership public speaking engagements
Developing Navy press releases for program milestone events
Reviewing industry press releases for program milestone events
Developing correspondence with ship commissioning sponsors
Developing, producing, and distributing program office newsletters
Monitoring media coverage and exposure for the LCS program
Tracking and synopsizing Congressional testimony, public statements, and other external public affairs materials
Provide photography support for internal program office ceremonies
Coordinating media interviews and appearances
Coordinating public affairs products and events with LCS shipbuilders, vendors and Fleet Commands
Tasking and coordinating graphic and video products and post production efforts with CACI graphics personnel
Supporting other public affairs initiatives as required
You’ll Bring These Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, or related degree area with 5 years of related experience, or Masters with 3 years of related experience
Five years of direct experience developing public affairs materials that conform to relevant requirements and standards
Five years of direct experience supporting media engagement
Active SECRET Security Clearance
Strong written and oral communication skills
Attention to detail
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Ability to meet quick-turn deadlines
These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
Strong working knowledge of Navy Correspondence Manual (SECNAVINST M-5216.5) and US Navy Style Guide
Five years of experience supporting Navy/DoD programs or commands
