CACI International Paralegal I/Legal Assistant – Civil Unit in Washington, District Of Columbia
At least one year of litigation paralegal experience required
Must be comfortable with preforming legal assistant tasks
Must be comfortable with sitting at front booth to assist receptionist an hour a day or when needed (can bring paralegal work with them)
Must have basic legal knowledge, including knowledge of standard legal citation to cite check legal motions and memorandum and must have sufficient experience with legal research tools such as LEXIS and Westlaw to perform basic legal research.
Demonstrated ability to review a wide variety of documents, both legal and non-legal documents, including Motions and briefs, and a variety of legal correspondence.
Performed legal research with Westlaw and Lexis and presented findings to attorneys on various civil matters, including: Title VII, Freedom of Information Act, foreclosures, Federal Tort Claim Act, and Lobbying Disclosure Act.
Reviewed various motions and briefs to ensure compliance with the applicable federal rules and statutes.
Drafted various motions and briefs to ensure compliance with the applicable federal rules and statutes.
Communicated with opposing counsel to ensure attorneys had what they need to prepare and draft motions and briefs.
Participated in enforcing the Lobbying Disclosure Act by finding addresses for lobbying registrants and their clients.
Prepared attorneys for depositions and trial.
Filed briefs and motions for attorneys with electronic filing.
Processed mail that was delivered to the office.
