What You’ll Get to Do:

Paralegal to assist the Legal Programs Office of the Executive Office for the United States Attorneys. This office promotes, facilitates, and monitors priority programs within the USAOs.

More About the Role:

  • Provide paralegal support to various program areas:

  • Perform basic legal research using a variety of automated legal research tools as well as public information databases and other automated resources to research case or program specific legal matters.

  • Participate in meeting with attorneys and other Government personnel; may have significant contact with attorneys, professional support staff, and other Government personnel.

  • Prepare and organize documentation including exhibits, statistical charts, etc.

  • Draft and edit non-legal memoranda, research reports, and correspondence.

  • Assist with content development and preparation of training materials for conferences, webinars, and other events; and

  • Perform other closely related duties as assigned.

  • Provide administrative support to Legal Programs:

  • Perform day-to-day administrative functions and general office duties including word processing, entering data into databases, copying, filing, and data entry, and managing information and documents using SharePoint or other software.

  • Vet and respond to inquiries via phone and email.

  • Manipulate calendars, prioritize, and arrange meetings, appointments, travel and accommodations.

  • Attend, record, and prepare minutes of meetings.

  • Distribute and receive documents.

  • Assist with collecting or obtaining documents and assembling files, binders, or other materials.

  • Create, manipulate, transfer, compute, and print information to word processing documents, spreadsheets, or presentations.

  • Compile, review, and analyze data and information from multiple sources.

  • Prepare and format management surveys and reports; and

  • Perform other closely related duties as assigned.

  • Provide administrative support for the CLO, including preparing travel paperwork as needed for CLO staff, make travel arrangements and prepare travel authorizations and vouchers.

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

  • Requires paralegal certificate, or JD, or currently attending an ABA-accredited law school, having completed at least one year of study.

  • At least one year of litigation paralegal experience required; trial experience very helpful.

  • Automated litigation support experience valued.

  • Must have basic legal knowledge, including knowledge of standard legal citation to cite check legal motions and memorandum and must have sufficient experience with legal research tools such as LEXIS and Westlaw to perform basic legal research.

  • Requires excellent written and oral communication skills, thorough knowledge and hands-on familiarity with a variety of computer applications, including word processing, databases (such as document review and file management systems), spreadsheets, imaging, and hardware systems.

  • Ability to consistently deliver highest quality work under extreme pressure will be very important.
