What You’ll Get to Do:
Work on a high-profile litigation matter and gain a tremendous amount of hands-on litigation experience. The paralegal will perform duties involving the processing of legal work, including preparation of legal correspondence using independent judgment in content and style, and performing a variety of legal, technical and administrative functions (i.e., data gathering, research and analysis) to support organizational activities.
More About the Role:
Works under the direction of a CACI Lead Project manager while performing the following tasks while complying with established procedures:
Performing a variety of substantive and administrative tasks in support of a DOJ office including maintaining case files.
Performing simple legal research.
Indexing, tracking and controlling document discovery (including documents produced and received in discovery).
Drafting legal documents.
Obtaining requisite signatures and approvals for legal documents.
You’ll Bring These Qualifications:
Paralegal certificate, or JD, or currently attending an ABA-accredited law school, having completed at least one year of study.
At least one year of litigation paralegal experience.
Basic legal knowledge, including knowledge of standard legal citation to cite check legal motions and memorandum.
Sufficient experience with legal research tools such as LEXIS and Westlaw to perform basic legal research.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Thorough knowledge and hands-on familiarity with a variety of computer applications, including word processing, databases (such as document review and file management systems), spreadsheets, imaging, and hardware systems.
Basic familiarity with ESI tools and knowledge of eDiscovery procedures and resources.
Ability to consistently deliver highest quality work under extreme pressure.
Must be eligible for a U.S. security clearance. (U.S. citizenship is required. )
These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
Automated litigation support experience.
Knowledge of a foreign language is desirable.
Federal litigation experience desired.
Trial experience very helpful.
