CACI is for an experienced Technical Writer to join the team! The Technical Writer is responsible for producing, proof-reading, editing, and formatting technical documentation to include application/system design specifications, manuals, on-line help, procedures, plans, and proposals to support Federal Protective Service (FPS).
You will edit and format information for consumption through various media channels to include printed materials, scripted voice content, email, websites, and other electronic access points as well ensuring entry into the Master Repository. You'll also gather information, interview subject matter experts, and conduct other research to convey technical material in a concise and effective manner.
Role and Responsibilities:
Oversees and manages repository for program artifacts
Responsible for updating and maintaining all CACI program and FPS-specific templates
Participates in the establishment of guidelines and standards for text and graphics
Organizes, writes, edits, and produces technical documentation per project standards regarding order, clarity, conciseness, style, and terminology
Coordinates the quality-control activities required to ensure the accuracy and adequacy of each publication, including in-process and final reviews, editing for compliance with all applicable specifications and standards, validation, and change verification that quality publications are produced
Ensures documentation complies with all applicable specifications, standards, and other project constraints
Supports creation and editing of graphic content for program documentation
Supports quality assurance efforts to ensure visual fidelity of all graphical materials
Acquires/learns functional knowledge of subject matter throughout the process of creating meeting minutes and presentation output
Conducts research on program subject matter including observing subject matter experts, participating in software demonstrations, and documenting results
Required Qualifications:
Ability to obtain DOD security clearance
DHS EOD suitability or Current DHS EOD preferred
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent + 6 years of related experience
5 or more years of working experience with MS-Office Product Suite
Hands-on experience with the following technologies:
SharePoint
Adobe Acrobat Pro
Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Visio
Preferred Qualifications:
Application development support relevant experience
Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop experience
Previous DHS or DoD experience
