Team CACI has an exciting and challenging opportunity available for a Wireless Network Architect supporting a DHS customer’s wide-area (WAN), local-area (LAN) and campus-area (CAN) networks across multiple security domains. This is located in Burlington, Vermont.
We are a seeking an experienced and motivated Wireless Network Architect to join our team to provide continuous improvement, redesign, rebuild, build, scale, modernization, WAN/LAN routing, switch, cloud and optimization. The candidate shall provide end-to-end enterprise infrastructure support for the DMVPN WAN Infrastructure. The candidate shall support implementation of QoS, Metro-Ethernet and or SONET technologies, for all USCIS CONUS and OCONUS locations. The candidate shall further develop and advance the use of USCIS cloud service providers. The candidate will be responsible for investigating infrastructure/software and tools that can help USCIS increase or provide adequate performance. This role necessarily deals with highly confidential and sensitive information, and the role is expected to conform to best handling practices.
What You’ll Get to Do:
Ensure the overall health and strong security posture of complex network architectures. The Wireless Network Architect will be actively involved with all phases of security design, implementation, proactive monitoring, troubleshooting and analysis of firewalls, IDSs, VPNs, security controls and policies. Develops system specifications, architecture designs, integration and test plans, and all relevant documentation. Develops security assessment and mitigation strategies. Manages experienced professionals who exercises latitude and independence in assignments for a large project, with limited oversight from manager. Wireless Network Architect coaches, reviews and delegates work to lower level team members. Solving difficult and complex problems. Communicates and influences project/team leaders within and outside of the job function at project/program regarding solution design, processes and/or approaches.
More About the Role:
Work with both corporate and customer leadership to research, analyze, and implement enterprise-wide network security solutions/capabilities/enhancements to support customer business/mission goals and objectives.
Design and Architect a new Private IP WAN solution.
Design and Engineer IPv6 implementation and support strategy. Strategy shall include migration of all devices, sites and applications.
Investigate the WAN and develop new solutions, specifically taking advantage of new technologies that embrace software defined networks, to include policy-based routing.
Provide recommendations for new products and technology for supporting all layers of the IT infrastructure architecture.
Apply Industry-standard network design principals and best practices.
Establish an efficient and effective repeatable methodology for architecture and engineering solutions from concept to delivery of operations.
Develop and implement SIP functionality with secure/encrypted transport.
Support SIP, H.323 standard protocols with expert knowledge.
Responsible for architecting, engineering and maintaining cloud direct connects and third-party interconnects where needed.
Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
Possess superior technical aptitude and effective written and verbal communications skills.
Experience handling, securing, and communicating highly confidential and sensitive information
Closely collaborating with cross-functional teams

US Citizenship required
An active Entrance on Duty (EOD) is required to begin employment and must be maintained as a requirement of continued employment.
A minimum of 6+ years’ experience in Wireless Network Architect
Expert knowledge; BGP, iWAN, DMVPN, EIGRP, MPLS, VRF, QoS, PBR, VSS, HSRP, STP, CISCO Meraki stack, WAN Optimization technologies and Cisco Nexus Strong written and verbal communication skills
Team Player – This role is part of a much larger team
These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
Relevant DHS focused experience
Bachelor’s degree, with preference in computer science or information systems, or equivalent combination of education/ 15 years of experience
Experience with on premise physical infrastructure and Virtualization technologies including Hyper-V, VMWare, SAN, FCoe, NFS, SMB3 etc.
Experience with networking and security methods and tools.
Experience with managing and using Dev Ops concepts.
Experience with major cloud providers preferred.
CCIE certification will be a plus
