CACI is looking for a Cyber Security Engineer to support an R&D laboratory on Wright Patterson Air Force Base at AFRL. This position is responsible for implementing cyber security solutions, standards and procedures within the laboratory including information systems, networks, data transfer media, test equipment, and educating laboratory personnel, to ensure information protection, integrity and availability in compliance with the Intelligence Community Directive (ICD) 503 Risk Management Framework (RMF) and National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), AFRL, Air Force, and DoD polices and standards.

What You’ll Get to Do:

  • Contribute towards improving the overall security posture of the laboratory. Plan, implement, upgrade, and monitor security measures for the protection of computer networks and information.

  • Ensure appropriate security controls are in place that will safeguard digital files and vital electronic infrastructure. May respond to computer security breaches and viruses.

  • Conduct laboratory system security and vulnerability analyses, and risk assessments and analysis of mitigation solutions.

  • Implement and maintain security controls; provide guidance, oversight, and expertise; and develop security documents to secure and support an ATO.

  • Coordinate with the laboratory personnel to identify risks through evaluation of processes, equipment and media used.

  • Develop mitigation procedures which will reduce the risk while sustaining laboratory productivity.

  • Ensure integration of security solutions, as the security SME and liaison with the customer.

  • Coordinate with the laboratory manager and Information System Administrator to implement mitigation processes on computer networks and standalone computers.

  • Employ cyber security processes, methods, techniques and tools and assure their consistent application.

  • Evaluate emerging technologies for new cyber security issues.

  • Evaluate security aspects of solutions proposed by project teams and provide guidance accordingly.

  • Implement appropriate Assessment and Authorization activities as required to sustain laboratory accreditations.

  • Create and maintain Information security documentation including SSPs, documentation packages for environment ATOs, discussions with AFRL security and laboratory personnel cyber security training.

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

  • Secret Security Clearance is needed to start.

  • Must be able to obtain a Top Secret security clearance.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Cyber Security, Information systems, IT Management, or other IT degree and a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience. Engineering, math, and/or science degrees are acceptable substitute degrees.

  • Associates degree in Cyber Security, Information systems, IT Management, or other IT degree and a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.

  • Security+, or CAP, or GSEC or CISSP or CISA certification at the time of application

  • 5+ years of related professional experience.

  • 3+ years of experience with employment of DoD cybersecurity requirements, policies, and procedures, with active experience in working with NIST standards, DISA/STIG standards, creating and maintaining required information security documentation.

  • Experience with vulnerability and compliance assessments and mitigation.

  • Experience with the NIST Risk Management Framework (RMF) requirements, processes, and procedures.

  • Implementing and maintaining security controls; providing guidance, oversight, and expertise; and developing security documents to secure and support an ATO.

  • Demonstrated experience in supporting all system A&A activities.

  • Ability to provide guidance on DoD Cyber regulations and requirements to engineering and software development staff.

  • DOD 8570 / DoD 8140 experience.

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

  • Experience using Microsoft Office Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

  • Active Top Secret security clearance
