CACI is seeking a full-time software engineer for work in the Air Force Research Laboratory at Wright Patterson AFB in Dayton, Ohio. You will be developing code in a Linux/Windows environment to improve and expand the current capabilities of modeling and simulation tools. Previous experience with these models is not required. You will be working in a highly collaborative environment with CACI subject matter experts to expand model capabilities to meet new AF modeling and simulation requirements. What You’ll Get to Do:

  • Work with the customer and CACI teammates to establish objectives, priorities, and schedules

  • Recommend process and software design to incorporate new capability objectives

  • Develop new or enhance existing software in C++, C, or Java for tools, interfaces, algorithms, and data analysis/display functions

  • Coordinate with teammates, customer, and other contractors to obtain information required to accomplish tasks

  • Design and run tests of new program capabilities

  • Analyze results of tests to validate proper execution of new software modules and overall program

  • Prepare reports on new software and test results for the sponsors

  • Properly document work performed, and lessons learned

  • Early identification of issues impacting ability to meet objectives or schedule

  • Learn and follow proper procedures to protect classified information

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

  • Experience with C++, C, FORTRAN, Java programming experience

  • Individual that demonstrates an ability to solve problems with programmatic and scientific methods

  • Team player who can accomplish goals with minimal supervision

  • College degree (i.e. Mathematics, Physics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science/Engineering, etc.) with at least 3-5 years of relevant experience or equivalent real-world experience that demonstrates these skills

  • Willingness to learn new tools, skills, and new ways of thinking about a problem

  • Detail oriented person is required to support post simulation run discrepancy evaluations in order to validate run results for the test sponsor

  • U.S. Citizen and clearable to Top Secret/SCI level (Interim Secret is minimally required to begin employment)

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

  • Experience with communications modeling and satellite communications is a plus

  • Experience with RADAR modeling in MATLAB/Simulink, C++, C, or Java for tools, interfaces, algorithms, and data analysis/display functions is a plus

  • Experience with OPNET modeling is a plus

  • Current Secret clearance is a plus

  • Modeling and Simulation experience such as knowledge on how to run Suppressor, AFSIM, EADSIM, or similar military models is a plus

  • Technical writing and documentation experience
