CACI International Software Engineer in Wright Patterson Afb, Ohio
CACI is seeking a Software Engineer for long term support to the Air Force Research Laboratory at Wright Patterson AFB in Dayton, Ohio. This position offers significant growth opportunities in a highly collaborative environment for the development of next generation electronic warfare technologies. You will be developing code in a Linux/Windows environment to improve and expand the current capabilities of modeling and simulation tools (Previous experience with these models is not required). You will be working closely with CACI subject matter experts to expand model capabilities to meet new AF modeling and simulation requirements. What You’ll Get to Do:
Support new AF simulation requirements by enhancing existing or developing new C++, C, FORTRAN, Java software and algorithms to:
Set up and monitor tests
Visualize scenario elements (e.g. radar cross section, communications, connectivity and network charts, transformation
Integrate software components using distributed simulation protocols
Characterize new battlespace elements or capabilities
Train on the Suppressor and AFSIM models, learning the details by closely working with CACI’s most experience people on these models
You’ll Bring These Qualifications:
Must demonstrate an ability to solve problems with programmatic and scientific methods
Team player who can accomplish goals with minimal supervision
C++, C, FORTRAN, Java programming experience
Bachelor's degree (i.e. Mathematics, Physics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science/Engineering, etc.) or real-world experience that demonstrates these skills with 2-5 years of relevant experience
Clearable to Top Secret/SCI
Detail oriented person is required to support post simulation run discrepancy evaluations in order to validate run results for the test sponsor
Willingness to learn new tools, skills, and ways of thinking about a problem
These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
Experience with communications modeling and satellite communications
Experience with OPNET modeling
Current Secret clearance or higher
Modeling and Simulation experience such as knowledge on how to run Suppressor, AFSIM, EADSIM, or similar military models
Technical writing and documentation experience
