CACI International Regional Planning Expert - AFRICOM in Yorktown, Virginia
What You’ll Get to Do:
As an AFRICOM Regional Planning Expert, you will provide expert advice and theater-level planning efforts to assist the geographic combatant command in meeting its strategic and campaign objectives.

Duties and Responsibilities:
You will utilize the Joint Planning Process and other planning processes to build plans, orders, analyses, and other products that support AFRICOM’s campaign objectives and future operations.
You will coordinate with the AFRICOM Staff, AFRICOM service component commands, and other strategic and operational partners to build, identify, refine, and document courses of actions.
You will serve as an Action Officer for assigned plans and issues identified as high priority items by the Division Chief, Director, or the Command Group.
You will participate in various working groups and operational planning teams to assist the combatant command in achieving it campaign plan objectives.
You will coordinate with and serve as the interface with the Commander/Command Group, when required, to include providing professional briefings and written products.
You’ll Bring These Qualifications:
Education: Master’s Degree in a relevant discipline.
• 15 years of staff experience at the brigade level or higher including 3 years of experience as an Operations Planner at JS, OSD, CCMD, Component, Service, or Agency Staff.
• 3 years of experience supporting planning and operations in the AFRICOM AOR.
Required Skills, Clearances, etc.:
• Subject Matter Expertise with the Joint Planning Process and the Joint Family of Plans
• Experience with JOPES
• Current Top Secret/Specialized Compartmented Information Security Clearance.
These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
• Successful completion of an advanced planners’ course such as SAMS, SAW or the Army Strategist Course (FA59).
• Successful completion of a grand strategy course such as a senior service college or the equivalent.
